DENVER – November 2, 2026 – 20th Century Studios and Fathom Entertainment, the leading specialty distributor of content to theatrical partners worldwide, are bringing two of acclaimed filmmaker Baz Luhrmann’s most iconic films back to theatres this December to celebrate their milestone anniversaries. Marking 30 years since its original release, Romeo + Juliet (1996) returns to the big screen December 5 and 7, followed by Moulin Rouge! (2001), celebrating its 25th anniversary with screenings December
12-13.

Known for his bold visual style, imaginative storytelling and unforgettable soundtracks, Luhrmann has captivated audiences with his distinctive approach to filmmaking. Adding to these special theatrical presentations, Luhrmann will personally introduce both films through exclusive prerecorded welcome greetings, offering audiences insight into the creative vision and filmmaking behind each of the two productions.

About Romeo + Juliet – December 5 and 7
Baz Luhrmann’s dazzling and unconventional adaptation of William Shakespeare’s classic love story is spellbinding. Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes portray Romeo and Juliet, the youthful star-crossed lovers of the past. But the setting has been moved from its Elizabethan origins to the futuristic urban backdrop of Verona Beach.

About Moulin Rouge! – December 12-13
When an idealistic poet (Ewan McGregor) is drawn into the dark, fantastical underworld of the Parisian nightclub the “Moulin Rouge,” he finds a seedy, glamorous haven of sex, drugs and electricity. He also finds himself plunged into a passionate love affair with the club’s star, who is also the city’s most famous courtesan (Nicole Kidman) in this tragic love story from filmmaker Baz Luhrmann.
