JIMMY Movie to Offer Early Bird Screenings As Audiences and Critics Praise Film

New York, NY and Denver, Colo. – October 27, 2026 – Burns & Co. Entertainment and Fathom Entertainment, the leading specialty distributor of content to theatrical partners worldwide, announced that due to audience demand and critical praise, JIMMY will be offered with special early bird presentations in limited theatres nationwide beginning November 1. JIMMY is the true, untold story of Jimmy Stewart’s military service in World War II and how that service gave It’s A Wonderful Life the emotional impact that still resonates today.
Hailed by critics, JIMMY recently won Best Feature at Washington West Film Festival, received the Audience Choice Award at the Heartland International Film Festival (alongside “I Play Rocky”), and KJ Apa, as Stewart, received the Spotlight Award at the Newport Beach Film Festival.

Apa’s performance, who recently appeared on the TODAY Show, was compared to Daniel Day Lewis’s Lincoln for his portrayal of Stewart by host Carson Daly.

As a thank you to those who serve and the loved ones who support them, Burns & Co. partnered with Vet Tix to provide free tickets to veterans, first responders, and their families to see JIMMY in theaters. More than $1 million in free tickets have been distributed nationwide, with additional tickets becoming available in early November.

Opening in theatres nationwide on November 6, 2026, this never before told true story brings to the big screen the most transformative years of Jimmy Stewart’s life – from winning the Academy Award® for Best Actor in The Philadelphia Story to serving as a combat pilot and commander in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Stewart flew 20 missions over Europe, rising to the rank of colonel, only to return home broken and disheartened. And then George Bailey came calling.
The all-star cast is led by KJ Apa as Stewart and includes Kara Killmer as Lady Julia; Neal McDonough as Stewart’s father, Alexander; Max Casella as Frank Capra; Jason Alexander as Louis B. Mayer; Christopher McDonald as Lionel Barrymore; Sarah Drew as Hedda Hopper; Rob Riggle as Colonel Terrill; Julian Works as Second Lieutenant Martinez; and Jen Lilley as Gloria Stewart. Aaron Burns directed the movie from a script by Justin Strawhand.
