MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. and DENVER, Colo. – July 29, 2026 – More than 30 years after Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie first hit the big screen, the beloved cult comedy series returns to theaters this fall with an all-new cinematic event, in partnership with RiffTrax, Radial Entertainment and Fathom Entertainment, the leading specialty distributor of theatrical content to partners worldwide. Featuring the first public screening of a brand-new episode riffing the 1966 monster movie Sting of Death, MST3K: The RiffTrax Experiments arrives in theaters nationwide for two nights only on Wednesday, September 9 and Sunday, September 13.
Join Mike Nelson and his robot friends Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo back in space, riffing cheesy movies on the Satellite of Love.
“Returning to MST3K was a blast, and also a very natural thing for RiffTrax to do.” – Michael J. Nelson.
“I’m excited for people to see our first brand-new Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode in many years, Sting of Death, at theaters across the U.S. It was wonderful to jump back into the MST3K playground. We had a ton of fun!” – Bill Corbett
“Shooting these episodes was so much doggone fun, and I can’t wait for people to see it with a crowd in a theater, where it’s so much doggone more funner.…Doggoner more fun. …It’ll be fun, okay?! – Kevin Murphy
Earlier this year, RiffTrax announced that they would be producing new episodes of the Peabody Award-winning series through a Kickstarter campaign that reached its funding goal within minutes and ultimately raised more than $2.7 million. Series stars Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy, Bill Corbett, Mary Jo Pehl, Frank Conniff and Trace Beaulieu all returned for MST3K: The RiffTrax Experiments, with Nelson, Murphy, and Corbett serving as creative leads. The in-theater premiere comes just over seven months after the project was announced on February 2nd, 2026.
Tickets for MST3K: The RiffTrax Experiments are available now online and at participating theater box offices (theater locations subject to change). For more information, please visit FathomEntertainment.com.
Sting of Death and the rest of the episodes of MST3K: The RiffTrax Experiments will be available to purchase on RiffTrax.com later this fall.
