Los Angeles and Denver – August 21, 2025 – AURA Entertainment, the U.S.-based distribution company known for bold, culturally resonant films, announced today it has acquired the celebratory documentary Satisfied, spotlighting Tony- and Grammy Award-
winning actress and singer Renée Elise Goldsberry. The film explores her life-changing experience originating the role of Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton, while simultaneously navigating her path to motherhood and balancing the competing demands of career and family. Aura Entertainment has partnered with Fathom Entertainment, the leading specialty distributor of content to theatrical partners worldwide, to release Satisfied in U.S. theatres from September 30 – October 2, 2025.
Directed by acclaimed filmmakers Chris Bolan (A Secret Love) and Melissa Haizlip (Mr. SOUL!), Satisfied had its U.S. premiere at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival, earning praise for its intimate portrayal of Goldsberry’s dual roles as an artist and mother during the cultural phenomenon of Hamilton. The film is produced by Amblin Documentaries, Stick Figure, and Aperture Media.
“Satisfied isn’t just a story about how one role, one show, changed the face of Broadway for future generations; it’s a story about motherhood and resilience,” said Aura Entertainment’s CEO Marc Goldberg. “Renée’s story is both personal and powerful, with a behind-the-scenes look at a cultural phenomenon that audiences around the world will find deeply moving. It’s incredibly exciting to partner with Fathom Entertainment to bring Satisfied to life this Fall.”
“Satisfied does a wonderful job telling the story behind the story of Hamilton on the big screen and Renée’s own journey and remarkable talents. Fathom is so very pleased to work with Aura in bringing this special documentary project to audiences across the country,” said Ray Nutt, Chief Executive Officer of Fathom Entertainment. “With Hamilton coming back to theatres in celebration of its 10-year anniversary on Broadway, the timing is ideal for Satisfied to come to the big screen.”
This intimate documentary follows Renée Elise Goldsberry’s journey navigating motherhood and her role in the groundbreaking musical Hamilton. Bolan and Haizlip serve as producers, alongside Steven Cantor and Jamie Schutz. Goldsberry is an EP for the project, in addition to Barbara Abeles, Tami Benanav, Katy Bolan, Ted Dintersmith, Geralyn Dreyfous, Eric Falkenstein, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Rick French, Suzanne Grant, Ruth Ann Harnisch, Colin Marshall, Audra McDonald, Wendy Morgan-Hunter, Kelli O’Hara, Andrew Robinson, Regina K. Scully, Elizabeth S. Tisch, Jonathan M. Tisch, Jared Underwood, and Lilah Fisher Wise.
